This is a local upgraded gerai tepi jalan with super fresh fish. They provide ikan bakar with kuah asam, kicap, additional gravy that you can take from the counter asam pedas, kari etc They serve ikan bakar: 1. Tilapia 2. Siakap 3. Pari 4. Terubuk 5. Cencaru For 4 pax the price is RM80 with drinks The asam is super spicyyyyy. The place can be hot, there’s also entertainment, and they sell roti john and other snacks in the restaurant from other vendors. Recommended for gerai shop. As soon as it’s 12pm the queue will be super long. So please come early

One of the best ikan bakar place in KL. love their style of grill and they only marinate the fish with tumeric and salt. Simple yet very flavourful. Ordered pari bakar and very not disappointed as the fish was fresh and enjoyable with their side of ulam and sup kaki ayam. Recommended and will returning in near future. The only drawback is need to wait to be seated as this restaurant will get really packed during lunch hour

The grilled fish here is fresh and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of seasoning—not too overpowering, allowing the natural flavor of the fish to shine through. The air asam is noticeably thicker than usual, giving it a unique twist. While it’s different from the typical version, it still complements the fish well and tastes great. Overall, I really enjoyed dining here and would definitely recommend trying their ikan bakar. The price is reasonable

The food quality is remarkable, every bite reflecting the rich flavors of freshly grilled fish paired with traditional condiments. Whether you choose to dine in or take out, the experience remains memorable. The prices, although based on the type of fish, are fair, making it affordable yet worthy of the satisfaction it brings. Mat Teh Ikan Bakar does not boast fancy interiors or air-conditioning, but its charm lies in its authentic, unpretentious atmosphere. The service is commendable, with the staff always smiling, friendly, and helpful, ensuring each guest feels welcomed. Despite the roadside parking, which can be tricky at times, the presence of RELA personnel helps manage the traffic, making the experience more bearable. However, a visit during the peak lunch hour might require patience, as the long queues are testament to the restaurant’s popularity. A 30-minute wait might be the norm, but it’s worth it. For a smoother experience, it's wise to arrive before or after the lunch crowd. Despite the minor inconveniences, Mat Teh Ikan Bakar remains a landmark in Datuk Keramat, a place where flavors speak louder than anything else.

Come here for a taste of fresh ikan bakar! Got air asam, sambal belacan and sambal kicap for dipping. Advised to come before lunch hour. Lauk asam pedas also ada but didnt order it.

Arrived there at about 12.30pm..have to queue about 30 minutes because it is a limited tables..you have to wait until other people finished their lunch and leave. We ordered ikan bakar kembung and terubuk with ulam2.Also chicken feet soup. It is worth the waiting when our food arrived.
